Liza Soberano finally speaks up about the cancellation of her prime-time series with Enrique Gil, Make It With You.
On her Instagram post yesterday, June 9, Liza wrote an open letter to the “solid followers” of Make It With You.
According to Liza, she is heartbroken to confirm the news that their series will no longer return to television.
She then revealed that they were still being asked to resume taping on June 13.
She shared pictures of the cast on set.
“Thank you so much for embarking on the journey of Billie and Gabo,”
“I know a lot of you are upset and looking for answers and the only explanation I can give you is a genuine fear of the v!rus.”
She apologized to the avid viewers of the series and she also thanked them for supporting the show.
She then revealed that she, along with the rest of the cast and crew, had reservations about pushing through with the series.
Liza added that they made the decision knowing that the ongoing health crisis has yet to be fully contained.
Liza added that contrary to other sources, their series was not axed in a whim. Instead, they were even given a go signal to resume the taping of the episodes.
“When we were asked to resume taping on June 13, many of us had hesitations.”
“Considering that the C0VID19 situation here in the Philippines is far from contained, there are many risks in place for me (and everyone involved) given my history of having a weak immune system.”
The actress then apologized to their audience for they will not be able to them the ending they deserve.
“Thank you and looking forward to our next adventure,” she ended.

To all the solid followers of our show Make It With You, Thank you so much for embarking on the journey of Billie and Gabo. It breaks my heart to confirm that we will no longer be coming back to air. I know a lot of you are upset and looking for answers and the only explanation I can give you is genuine fear of the virus. When we were asked to resume taping on June 13, many of us had hesitations. Considering that the COVID-19 situation here in the Philippines is far from contained, there are many risks in place for me (and everyone involved) given my history of having a weak immune system. I consulted my family, my managers, and the team and we all came to an agreement that it might be for the best to not continue with the show anymore. That, along with many other factors are the reasons why MIWY will no longer continue. I’m sorry we won’t be able to give our audience the ending they deserve. Thank you and looking forward to our next adventure.
MIWY ran from January 13 to March 13. It was temporarily replaced by the 2016 hit drama On The Wings of Love starting March 16 after the network announced that it will halt productions of shows in compliance with community quarantine guidelines.
