Julia Montes or Mara Hautea Schnittka in real life a Filipino actress of German descent. She began acting at a very early age on television by playing guest roles and starring in Goin’ Bulilit.
She eventually gained widespread recognition with her breakthrough role of playing the mean and spoiled Clara del Valle opposite fellow young actress Kathryn Bernardo in the remake of Mara Clara (2010–2011).
Julia is the breadwinner of her family. One of her goals when she started working at the age of six was to buy a house.
At age 16, Julia acquired her first property. In 2015, Julia became a proud owner of a property, which has three bedrooms, a gym, and a walk-in closet. The house was located in the same village where her rumored beau Coco Martin lives. But this wasn’t the first property of Julia.
Back in 2012, the Kapamilya actress put her savings on a 200-square-meter house in Cainta, Antipolo City. Despite having a new home in the Metro, the actress still doesn’t want to let go of her first house.
According to Julia: “Gusto kong ipa-rent, ayaw kong ibenta kasi first investment ko.”
Her house in Antipolo also has a “homey, cozy, and minimalist vibe” which proves how simple the actress is.
The tall house has its gates painted black. Bricks, roof tiles, and wrought iron details are used as exterior to go with the modern Mediterranean home theme.
Upon opening the front door, guests will be greeting with Julia’s spacious living area. Majority of the furnitures uses earthly colors just like the sofas and table which utilized a dark wood finish.
Dining an Kitchen Area
Opposite the living area is where the dining and kitchen area is located. Julia had pendant lamps as lighting source for the dining table. Both the chairs and tables, much like the ones in the living room, uses wood as main material.
Located between the living and the dining area is a multi purpose sitting nook. The place is lit by natural light coming from the windows.
Right before you approach the stairs leading to the second floor is where the common toilet and bathroom for guests is placed. Julia used the mixture of tropical and modern elements in decorating this bathroom.
According to Julia, she had the wall painted red because it’s her favorite color.
“Dream ko magkaroon ng red wall. Na-attract ako sa red, kasi usong-uso sa akin ‘yong nagbabasa ako ng mga book, and then nabasa ko ‘yong meaning. ‘Yong red, parang nagsi-symbolize ng parang strong ka, e,”
The actress’ bedroom also has its own private toilet and bath which can be accessed thru a sliding door. Similar to the common bathroom downstair, Julia’s also has the same tropical touch and design.
Walk In Closet
One of the rooms in the second floor is converted to the Julia’s walk in closet. This is where the actress keeps her clothes, shoes, bags, and other accessories. Hers shoes are organized according to style in a big shoe rack placed on the wall
Among all parts of the house, the veranda is the actress’ most favorite.
