James Reid will soon be back to working on a TV series, this time opposite a new leading lady: Nancy McDonie of K-Pop girl group Momoland.
The series, titled “Soulmate,” was announced the first week of this month by ABS-CBN TV production unit Dreamscape. The project is headed by Antoinette Jadaone, who has worked with Reid on the hit TV shows “On the Wings of Love” and “Till I Met You” and the film “Never not Love You.”
While James Reid feels happy to be paired up with MOMOLAND’s Nancy McDonie, James Reid asked fans to respect his team-up with Nadine Lustre.
The Kapamilya singer-actor took to Twitter to reassure fans that even though he found a new onscreen partner he and Nadine Lustre would still remain a love team. That said, he has one request from fans: “no love team names” for him and Nancy.
“I’m honored to be part of the new project ‘Soulmate’ on ABSCBN but please guys, no love team names I’ve already got one #jadine,” he said.
After that big announcement, it seems that not everyone is excited about this.
Mr. Ulysses Lustre, Nadine Lustre’s father, had been always stood behind her daughter’s back.
And this time he became viral after he posted a cryptic message on his Facebook account.
At first, netizens speculated that his rants were aimed at Kathryn Bernardo as he mentioned the terms “flop” and “high gross” presumably describing Nadine and Kathryn Bernardo’s respective movies.
But after Ulysses answered comment from one JaDine fan, some speculate that Ulysses’s cryptic post is for the executives of ABS-CBN.
According to the message, a fan asked Ulysses to make James realize that ABS-CBN is trying to demolish the JaDine love team that’s why they choose Nancy to be paired with him.
“At last someone finally understood,” Ulysses answered.
The said post was already deleted last October 11 after he clarified what is this all about.
In short, the reply of Nadine’s father is somehow a confirmation on the alleged issue about Nadine’s disapproval on James’ partnership with Nancy.
