LOOK: Behind-the-scene photos of Pinoy remake of Korea’s Miracle in Cell no. 7

When a movie had a remake, it means it was very popular back then and trying to give life to it again.

After 6 years, the popular Korean movie will have a Filipino version. The Miracle in Cell no. 7 remake will be an official entry of Viva Films to 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival.

Earlier this year, Viva Films announced that Nadine Lustre will be starring alongside Aga Muhlach in the remake, but Nadine decided to beg off the project and the role was given to Bela Padilla instead!

Recently, JC Santos just posted a photo of him in costume with the rest of the movie’s “inmates” on Instagram, and we’re seriously fangirling at this powerhouse cast! I MEAN, we have film and TV veterans Joel Torre, Jojit Lorenzo, Mon Confiado, and Soliman Cruz in the mix. JC, obviously awestruck as well, wrote in the caption: “‘Yung mukha ko hindi pa rin makapaniwala.”

Mon Confiado also posted a photo with the jail warden, John Arcilla.

Cinematographer Anne Monzon, meanwhile, posted a photo of Xia Vigor who will play the role of the daughter Yeseung.

Aga Muhlach will take on the role of a mentally-ill man (named Yong-gu in the original Korean movie) who is wrongfully charged with sexually assaulting and murdering a little girl. In prison, he becomes friends with his fellow inmates and together they form a plan to smuggle his young daughter (Xia Vigor)—originally named Ye-seung—inside the cell! Years after, his daughter (Bela Padilla) becomes a lawyer and is determined to prove her father’s innocence.
