Power couple Mar Roxas and Korina Sanchez finally had their twin bundle of joy joined the Christian world in a rather simple but solemn baptism. The ABS CBN news anchor and tv show host shared the beautiful moment in a series of pictures posted on her social media account last August 1.
According to the the Rated K host, although Pepe and Pilar’s baptism took a while, the twins were already blessed three times prior, one of which was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last March.
“Sa wakas! The twins’ baptism! Took awhile although they were blessed three times prior,”
“Tuwang tuwa kami. But mas tuwang tuwa si Pepe en Pilar.” Korina shared on the caption.
Sanchez added that despite the priest assigned to the ceremony was late for 45 minutes, the twin seemed had no problem as they looked very fresh and adorable in their baptismal gowns. She proudly shared how Pepe and Pilar remained calm and collected as they didn’t even cry before and during the ceremony.
“Himala. No crying AT ALL. Kahit mainit sa simbahan!”
“And even when they were blessed with water over their heads and Pepe was asleep,”
The 54 year old tv show host also noted that the twins did not appear to have stranger anxieties which is very common among infants as they looked happy with new faces around them.
“The kids love people. They super like being around a lot of new faces. So proud of them.”
The simple and quiet event was attended by Mar and Korina’s immediate family members. And unlike the usual baptisms, the couple opted to choose younger godfathers and godmothers for ther twin angels.
“It was a quiet and simple event. Just immediate families in attendance,” Sanchez said. “We wanted more ninongs (godfathers) and ninangs (godmothers) then realized we needed to choose guardians from the younger generation of our families.”
Korina tied the knot with the 64 year old former DILG secretary Mar Roxas last October 27, 2009 at a ceremony in Quezon City. Prior to their wedding, Sanchez shared that they decided to have their embryos preserved before her “biological clock” stopped ticking. This allowed the two to enjoy each other before finally deciding to build a family of their own.
The couple welcomed their twins last February of this year through in-vitro fertilization via a surrogate mother in the US.
